The Yorkshire Ripper

The Yorkshire Ripper was the nickname given to Peter Sutcliffe, a British serial killer active between 1975 and 1980. He targeted women around Yorkshire, primarily prostitutes, and murdered at least 13 women, with many more injured. His crimes caused widespread fear and police scrutiny. Sutcliffe was eventually caught in 1981 after a lengthy investigation that involved extensive forensic and psychological analysis. He was convicted of his crimes in 1981 and sentenced to life imprisonment. His case remains one of the most notorious serial killer cases in the UK.
