The World Wars

The World Wars were two major global conflicts in the 20th century. World War I (1914–1918) started when European nations fought over power and alliances, involving countries worldwide, resulting in massive destruction. World War II (1939–1945) was sparked by unresolved issues from WWI and the rise of totalitarian regimes, leading to even larger scale fighting. Both wars caused millions of deaths, changed national borders, and reshaped international relations. They highlighted the devastating impact of military conflict and led to efforts for global peace, such as the formation of the United Nations.
