The Women's Trade Union League

The Women’s Trade Union League (WTUL), founded in 1903, was an organization that aimed to improve working conditions and promote fair wages for women workers. It brought together working-class women, who demonstrated the struggles of everyday labor, with middle- and upper-class women, who could advocate for change through advocacy and support. The WTUL focused on issues like child labor, hours, and safety, and played a key role in labor reforms and women’s rights movements. It served as a bridge to unite women across different social classes for collective action on workplace justice.
