The Wise Men
The Wise Men, also known as the Magi, were learned travelers from the East who visited Jesus after his birth. They are traditionally depicted as scholars or astrologers who studied the stars, and they recognized the significance of Jesus’ birth as a profound event. Guided by a star, they journeyed to Jerusalem and then Bethlehem to present gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Their story is recorded in the Christian Gospel of Matthew and symbolizes acknowledgment of Jesus’ importance by the wider world, emphasizing themes of reverence, discovery, and prophecy fulfillment.
