The White Movement

The White Movement was a loose coalition of anti-Communist forces in Russia that opposed the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War (1918-1922). Comprising monarchists, liberals, and nationalists, they aimed to overthrow the socialist government established after the 1917 Russian Revolution. The Whites lacked unified leadership and diverse goals, which made coordinated action difficult. They received some foreign support but ultimately failed to defeat the Red Army (Bolsheviks). The movement's defeat led to the establishment of the Soviet Union, and it remains a significant part of Russia's civil conflict history.
