The Welsh Assembly

The Welsh Assembly, officially known as the Senedd Cymru or the Welsh Parliament, is the devolved government body responsible for making laws and decisions on specific matters within Wales, such as health, education, and transportation. It operates separately from the UK Parliament in Westminster but has limited powers granted by the UK government. The Assembly members, known as Senedd Cymru members, are elected by Welsh residents. Its purpose is to represent Welsh interests, improve local governance, and enhance public services, fostering self-governance while remaining part of the broader United Kingdom framework.
