The Weathermen (Weather Underground Organization)
The Weather Underground Organization, often called the Weather Underground, was a radical leftist group active mainly in the late 1960s and early 1970s. They emerged from protests against the Vietnam War and aimed to overthrow the U.S. government through militant activities. The group carried out bombings of government buildings and symbols they viewed as oppressive, intending to promote revolutionary change. They believed violent acts were necessary to challenge injustice and draw attention to their cause. Over time, they shifted away from violence, and many of their members later became involved in social activism and community work.
