The Valleys
The Valleys, located in South Wales, are a series of interconnected lowland areas along the Rhymney, Sirhowy, and Valleys Lines, historically known for coal mining and heavy industry. These valleys formed naturally in the landscape, shaped by river erosion over time. Today, they are characterized by their scenic beauty, cultural heritage, and a mix of urban and rural communities. While they faced economic challenges after industrial decline, effort is ongoing to regenerate and promote the valleys as vibrant, attractive places to live and visit.
