The Unmoved Mover
The Unmoved Mover is a concept from philosophy suggesting that everything in motion must be started by something that itself is not moved by anything else. Think of a row of falling dominoes: each domino falls because the one behind it pushed it over, but for the first domino to fall without being pushed, there must be an initial force or trigger. The Unmoved Mover is this first, uncaused cause that set everything into motion without itself being moved or changed. It’s often associated with the idea of a prime mover or necessary being that initiates but is not affected by the process.
