The United States Information Agency (USIA)

The United States Information Agency (USIA) was a government organization established in 1953 to promote American perspectives, culture, and policies abroad. Its goal was to improve the U.S.'s image and foster mutual understanding through media, cultural exchanges, and educational programs. USIA produced documentaries, maintained overseas information centers, and managed broadcasting services like Voice of America. In 1999, it was integrated into the Department of State, ending its separate existence.
