The UK Department for International Development (DFID) was a government department responsible for overseeing the UK’s aid and development efforts abroad. Its goal was to reduce poverty, support sustainable growth, and improve living conditions in developing countries through financial assistance, expertise, and partnerships. DFID worked on projects related to health, education, economic development, and climate resilience. In 2020, its functions were integrated into the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), which now manages UK foreign aid and development initiatives.
