The Tuareg people

The Tuareg are a Berber-speaking nomadic group primarily inhabiting the Sahara Desert regions of countries like Mali, Niger, Algeria, and Libya. Known as the "Blue People" for their indigo-dyed clothing, they traditionally engage in pastoralism, trading, and craftsmanship, especially jewelry and leatherwork. Their society is organized into clans with a strong cultural identity centered on independence, desert skills, and a rich history of oral literature and music. Despite modernization and external pressures, the Tuareg maintain distinct customs, language, and social structures, embodying a resilient cultural heritage rooted in the Sahara’s vast landscape.
