The Trireme
A trireme was an ancient Greek warship used around 500-400 BCE, notable for its speed and agility. It had three rows of oars on each side, powered manually by rowers seated in a long, narrow hull. The design allowed for rapid movement and maneuverability, ideal for battle and naval dominance. Triremes also featured a pointed, ramming prow called a "bronze battering ram," used to strike enemy ships and cause damage. Despite its small size compared to modern ships, the trireme was a formidable vessel that played a crucial role in Greek naval warfare and the expansion of maritime influence.
