The Triangle Offense
The Triangle Offense is a basketball strategy focused on spacing, passing, and player movement to create scoring opportunities. It positions three players: one in the low post, one on the weak-side corner, and one on the strong-side wing, forming a triangle. This setup allows for quick ball movement and multiple options—either a shot, a pass, or a drive—by exploiting gaps in the defense. Developed by coach Phil Jackson, it emphasizes teamwork, rhythm, and flexibility, aiming to generate open shots and maintain offensive flow by constantly shifting positions and reading the defense.
