The Timed Up and Go test

The Timed Up and Go (TUG) test is a simple assessment that measures a person's mobility and balance. To perform the test, an individual starts sitting in a chair, then stands up, walks three meters (about ten feet), turns around, walks back to the chair, and sits down again. The time it takes to complete this task is recorded. The TUG test helps healthcare providers assess an individual’s functional mobility, which is essential for identifying potential risks of falling and determining the need for further evaluation or intervention.
