The Third World
"The Third World" is a historical term used during the Cold War era to describe countries that were largely unaligned with the Western bloc (led by the United States) or the Eastern bloc (led by the Soviet Union). Originally, it referred mainly to nations in Africa, Asia, and Latin America with developing economies and lower levels of industrialization and income. Today, the term is less common, replaced by more specific descriptions like "developing countries" or "Global South," highlighting economic challenges and disparities without implying lack of sophistication or value.
