The Theory of Everything

The Theory of Everything (ToE) seeks to unify the fundamental forces of nature—gravity, electromagnetism, and the strong and weak nuclear forces—into a single framework. Currently, general relativity explains gravity at large scales, while quantum mechanics describes the other forces at tiny scales. A ToE would reconcile these theories, providing a comprehensive understanding of the universe’s workings, potentially using advanced concepts like string theory or loop quantum gravity. By doing so, it aims to explain everything from the behavior of subatomic particles to the structure of galaxies.
