The Temple of Zeus at Olympia

The Temple of Zeus at Olympia was an ancient Greek temple built around 470-456 BC to honor Zeus, the king of the gods. It showcased impressive Doric columns and housed a massive gold and ivory statue of Zeus by the sculptor Phidias, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The temple symbolized religious dedication, artistic achievement, and civic pride, serving as a central religious site during the Olympic Games. Although ruined today, its remains reflect the grandeur of classical Greek architecture and their devotion to their gods.
