The Templar Knights
The Templar Knights were a medieval Christian military order founded in 1119, initially established to protect pilgrims traveling to Jerusalem. They became a powerful and influential organization, combining monastic vows with martial prowess, and grew wealthy through donations and land holdings. Their distinctive white mantle with a red cross symbolized their mission. Over time, they expanded into banking and financial activities, but their influence declined in the early 14th century, leading to their disbandment by Pope Clement V in 1312 amid political and financial conflicts. Today, they are often remembered for their military, religious, and financial roles during the Crusades.
