The Temperate House
The Temperate House is a large historic glass conservatory located at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. It was built in the late 19th century to showcase plants from temperate regions around the world—areas with moderate climates like parts of Asia, South Africa, and North America. Designed with intricate ironwork and extensive glass panels, it provides a controlled environment that protects these plants from outside weather fluctuations. Visitors can walk through and admire a diverse collection of trees, shrubs, and flowering plants, gaining insight into the rich plant life adapted to milder climates across different continents.
