The Supreme Court of India
The Supreme Court of India is the highest judicial authority in the country, serving as the final court of appeal and guardian of the Constitution. It resolves disputes between the central government and states, protects fundamental rights, and ensures laws are consistent with the Constitution. Established in 1950, it consists of the Chief Justice and up to 33 other judges. The Court's decisions are binding nationwide, and it also has the power of judicial review to strike down laws or actions that violate constitutional principles. Its role is to uphold justice, equality, and the rule of law in India.
