The Social Relations Model

The Social Relations Model (SRM) is a way to analyze and understand how individual behaviors and relationships influence social interactions. It breaks down interactions into three parts: the person's own traits (actor effects), the characteristics of the person they are interacting with (partner effects), and the unique aspects of that specific interaction (relationship effects). This helps identify whether certain behaviors are due to personal tendencies, the qualities of the other person, or the specific situation, providing a clearer picture of interpersonal dynamics.
