
The Slav Epic
The Slav Epic is a series of large paintings created by Czech artist Alphonse Mucha between 1910 and 1926. Comprising 20 murals, the artworks depict the history, mythology, and folk traditions of Slavic peoples, celebrating their cultural identity and national pride. Set against detailed backgrounds, the paintings blend symbolism and storytelling, highlighting themes of heroism, unity, and spiritual heritage. Originally intended for a cultural center in Prague, the entire series is now housed in the National Gallery of Prague, serving as a significant cultural landmark and a testament to Slavic history and identity.
