The Simulacra

The Simulacra, a concept from philosopher Jean Baudrillard, refers to copies or representations of things that no longer have an original or real counterpart. Over time, these images or representations detach from reality and become their own self-sustaining realities, blurring the line between reality and illusion. In a world saturated with media, advertising, and digital images, simulacra influence perceptions so strongly that people may mistake these symbols or representations for authentic experiences or truths, leading to a reality where appearances often substitute for reality itself.
