the Shaw Prize

The Shaw Prize is an international award recognizing outstanding achievements in astronomy, life science and medicine, and mathematical sciences. Established in 2002 by Hong Kong entrepreneur Run Run Shaw, it aims to honor individuals or groups whose work has significantly advanced knowledge or understanding in these fields. Often called the "Equinox Oscars," the prize includes a monetary award and a medal, celebrating those whose discoveries have had a major impact on science and humanity. It’s considered one of the most prestigious honors outside the Nobel Prizes in its fields.
