The Self and the Other
The concept of "The Self" refers to an individual's understanding of their own identity, thoughts, and feelings, essentially how they see themselves. "The Other" represents anyone or anything external to this self—people, society, or even ideas—that influence and shape our identity through interaction and recognition. The relationship between the Self and the Other is fundamental in the formation of personal and social identity, as understanding oneself often involves relating to, differentiating from, or acknowledging the perspectives of others. This dynamic underpins much of human social life, communication, and personal development.
