the Screen Actors Guild
The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) is a labor union representing film and television actors in the United States. It advocates for actors' rights, fair wages, safe working conditions, and benefits such as health insurance and retirement plans. SAG negotiates with studios and production companies to establish industry standards and contracts, ensuring actors are treated equitably. It also provides resources and support for actors throughout their careers. Since 2012, SAG has been part of SAG-AFTRA, a larger union that merged with the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists to better serve performers across media platforms.
