The Scottish Screen

Scottish Screen was a government-supported organization established in 2001 to promote and develop film and television production in Scotland. Its role included funding projects, nurturing local talent, and encouraging the growth of the Scottish screen industry. By providing resources, training, and strategic support, Scottish Screen aimed to increase the visibility of Scottish stories and talent internationally. It worked to strengthen the creative economy in Scotland and foster a thriving film and TV sector, but it was absorbed into Creative Scotland in 2010, which now oversees arts and creative industries in the region.
