The Saint-Simonian Movement

The Saint-Simonian Movement, founded by Claude Henri de Rouvroy, comte de Saint-Simon, in the early 19th century, was a social and economic philosophy advocating for a society led by scientists, engineers, and industrialists. It emphasized progress, meritocracy, and cooperation to improve social welfare. The movement believed technology and knowledge should guide social organization, promoting equality and collective well-being. Although it influenced later socialist ideas, it was mainly focused on restructuring society based on rational planning and technical expertise to achieve a more just and productive order.
