The Sahara Desert

The Sahara Desert is the largest hot desert in the world, covering an area of about 9.2 million square kilometers across North Africa. It spans several countries, including Algeria, Egypt, and Sudan. Characterized by vast sand dunes, rocky plateaus, and very little rainfall, it has extreme temperatures, with scorching heat during the day and cooler nights. Despite its harsh conditions, the Sahara is home to diverse wildlife and has a rich cultural history, including ancient trade routes and nomadic tribes.
