The Rolling Process

The rolling process is a manufacturing method used to shape metal by passing it through two aligned rollers that apply pressure. This compresses and spreads the metal, reducing its thickness and altering its shape. It’s similar to rolling dough with a rolling pin but with stronger forces involved. This technique produces sheets, strips, or other shapes with precise dimensions and smooth surfaces, often used in producing steel, aluminum, and other metals for construction, automotive, and packaging industries. The process can be done hot (at high temperature) or cold (at room temperature), depending on the material and desired properties.
