The Real Numbers

Real numbers include all the numbers that can be represented on a number line, encompassing both rational numbers (such as fractions and integers) and irrational numbers (such as square roots of non-perfect squares and pi). They form a continuous spectrum, meaning there are no gaps. Real numbers are used to measure quantities, distances, and continue infinitely in both directions. They can be positive, negative, or zero. Essentially, real numbers provide a complete way to describe and quantify the world around us, capturing every possible value along a continuous scale.
