The Reading Recovery Program
The Reading Recovery Program is an early intervention initiative designed to help struggling first-grade readers catch up with their peers. Trained teachers work one-on-one with individual students for short, targeted periods—usually about 12 to 20 weeks—using personalized reading and writing lessons. The goal is to improve each child's literacy skills quickly, fostering confidence and comprehension. The program emphasizes diagnosing specific learning needs, providing immediate support, and building foundational skills to enable students to read and write more effectively, ultimately helping them stay on track with their grade level.
