The Rajputana Agency
The Rajputana Agency was a colonial administrative division established by the British in India to manage numerous princely states in the region now called Rajasthan. It functioned as a central authority overseeing relationships between the British government and the various princely rulers, respecting their local customs and autonomy while maintaining British interests. The agency facilitated communication, treaties, and cooperation among these states, which were not directly governed as British provinces but retained their own rulers. It existed until Indian independence in 1947, after which the princely states integrated into the modern Indian nation.
