The Project Cybersyn

Project Cybersyn was a Chilean initiative in the early 1970s aimed at using computer technology to manage the country’s economy more efficiently. It involved developing a network of sensors to monitor industrial production in real-time, a central computer system to analyze this data, and a command center for decision-making. The goal was to provide the government with better information to optimize resources and improve economic planning. Although halted by political changes, Cybersyn was an early attempt to combine technology and economic management, showcasing innovative ideas about data-driven governance.
