The PRECEDE-PROCEED Model

The PRECEDE-PROCEED Model is a planning framework used primarily in health promotion. It consists of two main phases: PRECEDE (predisposing, reinforcing, and enabling constructs in educational/ecological diagnosis and evaluation) focuses on assessing needs and understanding the factors affecting health behaviors. PROCEED (policy, regulatory, and organizational constructs in educational and environmental development) involves implementing and evaluating strategies to bring about change. Essentially, it helps organizations design effective health programs by first identifying the root causes of health issues and then applying targeted actions to improve health outcomes.
