The Pragmatism Movement
The Pragmatism Movement is a philosophical approach that emphasizes practical consequences and real-world applications as the key to understanding ideas, beliefs, and truth. Instead of focusing solely on abstract theories, pragmatism values how concepts work in everyday life and their usefulness. It emerged in the late 19th century with thinkers like Charles Sanders Peirce and William James, promoting the idea that the meaning of any idea depends on its practical effects. Essentially, pragmatism asks, "Does this idea help clarify or improve our experiences?" and uses that as the basis for evaluating its worth.
