The Plan of San Luis Potosí
The Plan of San Luis Potosí was a revolutionary document issued in 1910 by Francisco I. Madero, challenging the long-standing dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz in Mexico. It called for the nullification of the 1910 election results, which Díaz had declared himself winner of, and urged Mexicans to rise against his government starting on November 20, 1910. The plan aimed to restore democracy, promote political reforms, and end repression and inequality. It served as a rallying cry for revolution, inspiring widespread opposition and ultimately leading to Díaz’s resignation and the beginning of the Mexican Revolution.
