The Plan of Ayala
The Plan of Ayala was a revolutionary statement issued in 1911 by Emiliano Zapata during the Mexican Revolution. It called for land reforms, urging the redistribution of land from the wealthy to peasants and farmers. Zapata opposed the government of then-President Francisco I. Madero, accusing him of failing to enact true land reforms. The plan emphasized the rights of indigenous and rural communities, demanding justice and social equality. It became a rallying cry for those fighting to improve land distribution and ensure that land belonged to those who worked it, advocating for a fairer, more equitable Mexico.
