The Photographic Truth
Photographic truth refers to the idea that a photograph captures a real moment or scene as it truly was. However, despite its seeming objectivity, photos can be influenced by factors like framing, lighting, exposure, or post-processing, which may alter perception. Therefore, a photograph doesn’t necessarily reveal absolute truth but rather a visual representation of reality that can be manipulated or interpreted differently. Recognizing this helps us understand that images are powerful tools, but they should be viewed critically, aware that they might not always depict an unaltered, complete truth.
