The Philosophy of Antinatalism

Antinatalism is a philosophical perspective that argues it’s morally wrong to bring new life into the world. Its main idea is that existence involves suffering and harm, which outweigh any potential benefits. Therefore, preventing birth is seen as a way to reduce overall suffering. Antinatalists often emphasize the ethical responsibility to avoid causing unnecessary pain and suggest that refraining from procreation is a compassionate choice. While controversial, many proponents see it as a logical stance on reducing suffering and respecting the autonomy of potential individuals by not subjecting them to life's hardships from the start.
