The Penrose Steps

The Penrose Steps are an optical illusion illustrating an impossible object, created by mathematician Roger Penrose. They depict a staircase that appears to endlessly ascend or descend in a continuous loop, defying the rules of gravity and physical space. In reality, such a structure can't exist in three dimensions because it violates basic geometric principles. The illusion plays with perspective, making it look like a never-ending staircase, even though such a perpetual loop is impossible in real-world architecture. It highlights how perspective can trick our minds into seeing something physically impossible.
