the Pennsylvania Industrial Heritage Association
The Pennsylvania Industrial Heritage Association (PIHA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Pennsylvania’s rich industrial history. It connects communities, museums, and individuals through programs, events, and resources that highlight the state’s industrial past, such as coal mining, steel manufacturing, and transportation. PIHA aims to foster understanding of how industry shaped Pennsylvania’s economic development and cultural landscape, encouraging appreciation and stewardship of historic sites and artifacts. By doing so, it helps ensure this important part of the state's legacy is recognized, preserved, and integrated into ongoing heritage education.
