The Patrician

The Patrician was a member of the aristocratic class in ancient Rome, primarily during the early Republic. They were wealthy landowners who held political power and influence, often serving as senators and governing officials. The Patricians distinguished themselves from the common people, called Plebeians, through their lineage and social status. Over time, political rights expanded to others, but the Patricians remained a privileged class. Essentially, they were Rome’s ruling elite, shaping the country's laws, policies, and social structure through their wealth and hereditary status.
