The Participatory Economics Project
The Participatory Economics Project explores a socio-economic model called participatory economics (or Parecon). This system aims to replace traditional capitalism by emphasizing inclusive decision-making, equitable distribution of resources, and balanced work. Instead of profits, workers and consumers collectively plan and control economic activities through councils and feedback mechanisms. The goal is to create a fairer economy where everyone’s needs are prioritized, decision-making power is shared, and wealth is distributed more equitably. The project examines how such a system could function effectively in practice, promoting democratic control and sustainable growth.
