The Palestinian Authority
The Palestinian Authority (PA) is a semi-governmental organization established to govern parts of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, territories occupied by Israel. It was created through the Oslo Accords in the 1990s with the goal of achieving a peaceful and negotiated resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The PA handles local administration, public services, and security in areas under its control, but it does not have full sovereignty or control over all Palestinian territories. Its leadership and authority are recognized by some countries and the international community, but its effectiveness and independence are often limited by political, security, and diplomatic challenges.
