The Order of the Dragon

The Order of the Dragon was a chivalric organization founded in 1408 by Hungarian and Croatian nobility, primarily to defend Christian Europe against Ottoman Turkish expansion. Members, including royalty and noble warriors, swore loyalty to fight together in times of war, especially against the Turks. The symbol of the dragon represented strength and protection. Although its origins are somewhat legendary, the order aimed to maintain Christian unity and sovereignty, inspiring loyalty and military cooperation among its members. It played a significant role in medieval European politics and military alliances, symbolizing the fight against external threats.
