The ONC (Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology)
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) is a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that leads efforts to improve healthcare through better use of technology. It sets standards for electronic health records (EHR), promotes secure sharing of health information, and supports innovation to make healthcare safer, more efficient, and more patient-centered. Essentially, ONC helps ensure that doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers can easily access and exchange accurate health information to improve patient care.
