The Office of Minority Health
The Office of Minority Health (OMH) is a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Its main goal is to improve health outcomes for minority populations by addressing health disparities—meaning differences in health that are closely linked with social, economic, and environmental disadvantages. OMH works on policies, programs, and research to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, has access to quality healthcare. It also promotes awareness and education about health issues that disproportionately affect minority communities, aiming to reduce barriers and improve overall health equity.
