The November Uprising
The November Uprising (1830-1831) was a Polish rebellion against Russian control, triggered by Poland's opposition to Russian attempts to limit its sovereignty following the Congress of Vienna. Polish soldiers and civilians rose up in Warsaw, aiming to restore independence and preserve their cultural identity. Despite initial successes, the uprising was eventually suppressed by Russian forces, leading to increased repression. It highlighted Polish national aspirations and contributed to the ongoing struggle for independence, though Poland remained under Russian rule until later 20th-century independence movements.
